your guide to a Lairmont Manor wedding in Bellingham, WA

lairmont manor sits on a hillside in bellingham and has a presence that makes you pause as you arrive. the architecture is full of old-world european charm. built in 1914, the estate features ornate stonework, leaded glass windows, a formal fountain garden, sweeping lawns, and interiors that feel thoughtfully collected instead of just decorated. this venue has a distinct personality, and couples who choose it usually do too.

here’s everything you should know if you’re thinking about planning a lairmont manor wedding.

lairmont manor wedding spaces

lairmont is versatile because it offers so many unique spaces. ceremonies, receptions, toasts, and portraits can all take place in different settings without ever leaving the property. the main ballroom and stage, formal dining room, billiards room, west and north lawns, pavilion, and fountain garden each have their own character. you can plan your day to move through these spaces in whatever way works best for you. plus, both parties have their own getting ready spaces here.

during the warmer months, the west lawn hosts a marquee tent shaded by a magnificent atlas cedar that has been there long enough to feel like part of the architecture. for cooler season weddings, the indoor spaces hold up to around 75 people and feel genuinely intimate.

lairmont manor wedding cost + capacity

during high season from may through september, lairmont can host up to 150 guests using both indoor and outdoor spaces. in the shoulder season, the capacity is about 75 for indoor events. pricing starts around $6,675 and can go up to over $11,000 in peak months. their event team is also prepared to adjust for pnw weather at a moment’s notice, which is always a big plus for a wedding venue!

p.s. i don’t charge travel fees for weddings at Lairmont Manor. if you’re considering this venue and want to talk through photography, that’s one less thing on the list.

what makes lairmont manor photograph so well

lairmont offers a lot for your wedding photography. the leaded glass windows create beautiful diffused light indoors. the fountain garden and the manicured lawns are an enchanting backdrop for romantic wedding portraits. and the manor itself is striking with its architecture!

the interiors also have real texture, with antique details and patterned floors. these are the kinds of details that look great on camera. for couples who want photos that feel thoughtful and layered, this venue is a great choice.

editorial style wedding photography at lairmont manor of a beautiful queer couple

captured with editorial wedding photography approach in mind

lately, more couples have been asking for editorial-style wedding photography, meaning images that look polished and composed, more like what you’d see in a magazine than in a candid wedding album. and, you know what, that’s definitely part of what I offer.

documentary, editorial, and cinematic styles aren’t about different photographers. they’re different approaches that an experienced photographer uses depending on the moment. the styled shoot I did at lairmont with vega and alyssa was a chance to work in a deliberately editorial style: composed framing, thoughtful lighting, and images that are created intentionally.

you can learn about all the different wedding photography approaches - documentary, editorial and candid here!

the rococo-inspired details, like the antique china, floral linens, and the stationery suite with its hand-torn edges and swan RSVP card, gave us plenty to work with. I enjoyed every moment of it. a venue like Lairmont, with its rich architectural details and beautiful interiors, is the perfect setting for this style. if you want photos that feel intentional and visually striking, not just documentary, let’s talk!

the styled shoot: vega + alyssa at lairmont

the concept for this shoot was rococo-inspired: soft and romantic, but with a real edge. vega wore a structured white suit, while alyssa looked incredible in a strapless gown with a cathedral-length veil. they are a real couple, which made the styled shoot feel way less staged as they moved through the venue with so much love and joy.

we had a genuinely good time, and that always comes through in the photos. a beautiful venue helps, but so does working with people who feel comfortable in front of the camera and are willing to move around and enjoy the moment.

is a lairmont manor wedding right for you?

lairmont is a great choice if you want a venue with real architectural character, gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces, and a setting that has its own style without needing a lot of extra decoration. it works well for both small gatherings and larger celebrations, and the team is experienced enough to handle the pacific northwest’s unpredictable weather so you don’t have to worry.

If you’re planning a wedding at lairmont manor and want to talk about photography—candid, cinematic, documentary, editorial, or a mix of all—feel free to reach out. and as i mentioned, i offer no travel fees for weddings at this venue. let’s chat through what your day could look like!
