i absolutely love photographing engagements at pike place market. the neon, the cobblestones, the historic brick walls, and then that sky over Puget Sound doing something completely different every evening. it never photographs the same way twice, which is exactly why i keep coming back.

that red dress was doing serious visual work all evening, against the warm brick, deep teal, and the glow of market neon at disk. the main sign is iconic for a reason, but some of the real gems are off the beaten path. the lower floors of the market, once the vendors close up for the evening, turn into something else entirely, long corridors, neon-washed walls, complete stillness. 

the crowds can be tricky to shoot around, but Pike Place is still one of my favorite locations for an engagement session in the city. the side streets and tucked-away spots nearby offer a bit more breathing room, which is exactly why working with someone who knows the location makes all the difference.

we finished on the rooftop terrace overlooking the waterfront with the Seattle Great Wheel sitting in the background. the evening light was warm and a little moody, and Fan and Fangxuan were completely in their own world. honestly, my most cinematic gallery yet.
